Dairygold’s Mallow plant faced rising energy costs and outdated wastewater infrastructure. The cooperative needed a high-efficiency solution to replace aging secondary treatment systems and reduce the footprint and noise of its aeration process. EPS Water, a specialist in wet infrastructure, partnered with Robuschi to deliver a modern, energy-saving upgrade using Robox Turbo blowers.
EPS replaced Dairygold’s decades-old trickling filter system with a biological nutrient removal process based on activated sludge. Aeration, which accounts for up to 60% of a plant’s energy use, required a blower solution that was compact, quiet, and efficient.
Robuschi supplied five Robox Turbo blowers configured in parallel to aerate two settlement tanks. The blowers were installed outdoors, addressing previous noise complaints with a 20% reduction in sound levels.
EPS delivered the upgrade on time, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and long-term reliability for the cooperative’s wastewater treatment.
