Fishmeal production is notoriously energy-intensive. HPP Solutions, part of Iceland’s Héðinn hf., needed a way to recover fish protein and oil more sustainably. Their goal: reuse 100% of raw material while cutting energy costs. After trying multiple blower systems with limited success, they turned to Robuschi.

Robuschi delivered two customized CRBS 145 rotary lobe blowers configured for steam applications. These units featured visco-dynamic input shaft seals and oil level sensors—tailored to meet the demands of vapor recompression. The result: HPP Protein Plants now reuse evaporated vapor from cooked fish, saving up to 30% of evaporation energy, or 250–300k annually.
