Case Study

Gael Force Group, a marine equipment manufacturer serving the aquaculture industry, faced a recurring challenge: limited space on feed barges. These barges, operating across Scotland’s west coast, require reliable compressed air systems to deliver feed via pneumatic conveying. But traditional blower units often consumed too much room, capping the number of feeding lines and limiting output.

To solve this, Gael Force turned to Gardner Denver’s Robuschi brand and deployed the compact Robox Aqua rotary lobe blower. The result: more feeding lines, higher capacity, and a system that fits where others can’t.

Get the complete technical breakdown and performance data.

Why Robox Aqua?

  • Compact footprint: Three Robox Aqua units fit in the space of two conventional blowers.
  • Higher output: Enabled Gael Force to install eight feeding lines instead of six.
  • Direct drive system: Reduces maintenance and extends service life.
  • Quiet operation: Sound enclosure keeps noise below 80 dB(A).
  • Modular design: Stackable and scaffold-compatible for tight marine installations.

Neil MacDonald, Project and Design Engineer at Gael Force, confirmed the impact:

“The reduced width of the Robox Aqua enabled us to win a contract for an eight-blower system. That wouldn’t have been possible with the standard unit.”

Technical Specs

  • Pressure: Up to 1000 mbar (g)
  • Volume flow: Up to 700 m³/h
  • Motor power: Up to 30 kW
  • Drive type: Direct coupling (no belt)
  • Noise level: < 80 dB(A)
